Tools to Do a Great Vehicle Wrapping Job
Advertising your business on your vehicles using Avery vinyl is a simple yet effective way to expose your company and brand to a wide audience. To make sure that your corporate signage will last, you need to be certain that the quality of your vehicle wraps is precise and durable. It is one of the most demanding applications for graphics because of the complexities of the surface you will use, the uniformity of that surface and the fact that it is open to the elements.
You might initially create your sign by using a Roland vinyl cutter, but then use specific tools to complete the job.
Using the right graphics tools is a good start to producing the perfect result. Although it seems simple some of the most important tools are the knife, blades and the squeegee.
The best knife is a retractable light-duty knife. The important aspect of this is that it needs to so precise that it does not cut the vehicle body and paintwork. Under no circumstances should box cutters be used. The blades need to be very sharp and typically the AB snap off blades with either a 30 or 45 degree angled tip are used.
Your squeegee should be both firm and flexible. You will need to apply enough force to the film so that it will properly bind to the vehicle’s surface. However, care must be taken to when you are applying the film to curved surfaces that it is not damaged. This can sometimes happen if the squeegee is too hard. If the squeegee is soft, then the film will not adhere. The use of a squeegee buffer is equally as important. A buffer is used to keep the film from damage. It must be in good condition to avoid scratching the film and often times can lead to film not being applied correctly.
When applied professionally, vehicle wraps can quickly convey your advertising message. A poorly applied vehicle wrap however will convey a different message.
